On the 4th, it was learned from Henan Luoyang CITIC Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. that the world's largest and most advanced 18500 ton free forging hydraulic unit has been officially put into operation at the company. This world-class highly automated forging platform can easily forge hundreds of tons of steel ingots into shape like kneading dough.
Ren Qinxin, Chairman of CITIC Heavy Industry, introduced that this hydraulic unit is the core equipment of CITIC Heavy Industry's "New Heavy Machinery" project with a total investment of 3.9 billion yuan. The current specifications and power of the unit are among the highest in the world, with a maximum upsetting force of 18500 tons, capable of forging 600 tons of steel ingots and 400 tons of forgings per unit; The positive and negative errors of forgings should not exceed 2 millimeters, and the fast forging frequency can reach more than 44 times per minute. One forging can perform 10 actions simultaneously, and one person can complete the operation. Especially its hydraulic transmission system adopts the world's most advanced pump control technology, which can greatly reduce energy loss compared to traditional valve control and achieve more than 20% energy-saving effect.
Zhang Jin, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the China Forging Association, said that this "world's largest" hydraulic press has officially been put into operation, marking that China's forging capacity for large free forgings has reached the world level. It will contribute to meeting the key demand for large free forgings in China's hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power, hydrogenation reaction, metallurgy, shipbuilding and other large-scale equipment, and effectively enhance the industrial image of China's large forging and heavy equipment manufacturing.
Ren Qinxin introduced that since entering trial production in March this year, this hydraulic unit has undertaken multiple production tasks for large forgings. In just four months, it successfully completed the forging task of 48 steel ingots ranging from 100 to 300 tons, smoothly achieving the forming and size control of various products such as shafts, plates, cakes, and rings. The forging quality fully meets the process requirements and has the ability to produce large high-end forgings. At present, the large-scale forging contract of CITIC Heavy Industry has been scheduled until 2012. According to predictions, the production capacity of hydraulic units is expected to be fully released by the end of this year.
CITIC Heavy Industry, formerly known as Luoyang Mining Machinery Factory, was one of the 156 key projects built during China's "Fifth Five Year Plan" period. In 1993, the overall assets were transferred to CITIC Group Corporation. Nowadays, CITIC Heavy Industries has grown into a globally renowned high-end heavy equipment manufacturing enterprise.
